Why Is This Important?

I have worked at every level of high-performance sports and understand the challenges mountain athletes face in their development. My goal is to guide individuals, families, and coaches through the highs and lows of pursuing athletic careers and personal goals.

With a focus on education and mentorship, I believe in creating programs that encourage active participation, commitment, and lifelong learning. Whether the journey leads to high-performance sports or simply a high-performing life, my aim is to support growth and success.

What I’m Doing Now?

Seven years ago, I moved to South Lake Tahoe with my family and joined ALTIS, a global leader in sports performance and coaching education. I helped establish Barton Performance by ALTIS, combining expertise in orthopedics, sports medicine, and rehabilitation.

During the pandemic, I shifted to online coaching, working with Olympic skiers like Travis Ganong and Marie-Michele Gagnon until their retirements in 2023. I also mentored top-ranked young skiers, volunteered with SOS Outreach to introduce kids to skiing, and continued as an international coach mentor with ALTIS.

Since 2022, I’ve been the lead performance coach at PT Revolution, a private practice for performance therapy and training. In 2024, I launched Coach Nick Ward LLC and Mountain Movement Training to offer online coaching, training, and mentoring, supported by on-site experiences in South Lake Tahoe.

Why Join Mountain Movement Training?

My approach is built on years of experience coaching athletes in sports like skiing, track and field, and snowboarding, as well as mentoring those who’ve succeeded in other fields. I focus on creating science-backed, engaging programs that empower athletes to develop self-awareness, motivation, and skills for success—whether on the slopes, in competition, or in life. Join the Mountain Movement Training community and take your journey to the next level!
